Grey Wagtail. Chicks are fed by both parents and they fledge 11-13 days after hatching. Although the pied wagtail is usually called the ‘water’ wagtail, it’s the grey wagtail that is the more eligible for the name; possibly ‘waterfall’ wagtail would be much more appropriate, with regard to the water that it is nearly invariably connected is usually drinking water in quick motion. It is built mostly by the female and made from twigs, grass, and moss. Grey wagtails lay 3-7 smooth, glossy, cream-coloured eggs with grey spots which are incubated by the female alone for 11-14 days.
